Hosted Mediations:
Historically, there's been a shortage of suitable Commercial mediation venues in Cornwall. We are now able to offer suitable professional premises for parties looking to mediate in person West of the Tamar. Local clients no longer need to travel out of county.
That means:
Guaranteed neutrality, avoiding the perception that you’re travelling to ‘the enemy’
Comfortable, light, air conditioned rooms for up to 6, completely apart from the other party (and a joint meeting room)
Full accessibility
On site catering for breakfast and lunch, and pastries throughout the day for any other sugar rush needed to get through it
Proper, unlimited, coffee (and tea and other soft drinks)
Office facilities: proper WiFi, copying, printing of agreements
Free parking (and paid electric vehicle charging)
An actual balcony area to stand below the Cornish sky and take in clean air while you take stock
Good availability throughout the year, with only a free days notice required to confirm a booking including accommodation
We can host it all, for an additional £400 per party including all refreshments and unlimited coffees. Compare that price to city locations
At Yours:
And of course, we can travel to you at premises anywhere in the UK convenient to you, either in solicitors offices or Counsel's chambers, or bespoke mediation facilities. We will need 3 separated areas, for confidentiality reasons; if we have that, we have suitable premises we can work with.
If it concerns a property issue, it can often help to mediate on site, so that we can explore practical solutions, measure boundaries, etc, particularly if a judge plans to carry out a site visit at trial anyway. In that case, even a failed mediation can narrow issues significantly.
Remote / Online
More and more often, mediations can take place online, which saves costs and travel time and means that participants have control over their own environment, refreshments and meals, climate, surroundings, and comfort breaks. Often, that works best, particularly if there's a likelihood of the mediation going into overtime.
I can host a mediation by Zoom or Google Meet that keeps you in your comfortable place. I'll drop you a link shortly before and arrange separate virtual rooms.
